Not Your Demographic, my very first podcast, was born in 2015 when my co-host & I were sick and tired of listening to uninteresting men talk about wrestling. Since the launch of that podcast I became one of the co-founders of NYD Productions, a Chicago based podcast production company for the nerdy, the feral, and the insufferably curious.

Currently I am the host and co-producer of three NYD Productions shows and one SB Nation podcast covering topics from professional wrestling to politics to the greatest show ever made, Star Trek The Original Series.

Not Your Demographic

Started in 2015, Not Your Demographic is the brainchild of myself and my co-host/work wife, Erin Cline. We were tired of listening to men talk about wrestling, so we decided to start our own pro-wrestling podcast!

We used to be featured on the SB Nation site, Cageside Seats, and talk all things squared circle covering everything from WWE to ROH. However, the tone of our podcast shifted in 2018 when Erin began to protest WWE and their involvement in Saudi Arabia. We tried to keep the podcast going, but eventually, we burnt out of the pro-wrestling podcast game, so we took a hiatus.

But then we missed podcasting.

And since we had built a big enough listener base, we decided to keep the podcast going! Only now we discuss the state of the world, our never-ending reading lists, and very occasionally talk about professional wrestling. It's a spectacularly niche lifestyle podcast.

X-Treks

Once Erin & I realized that we still loved podcasting, just maybe not pro-wrestling, we decided to start another podcast!

(They're like tattoos. You can't have just one!)

Despite Erin & I having known each other for over a decade and having lived together, we realized that we had never watched each other's favorite tv shows. Thus, X-Treks was born! We brought on our friend Bobby Hoffman to produce the show because not only is he a very talented sound editor, but he has actually seen both shows.

But this isn't your average re-watch podcast! For each episode, we pick two episodes that fit a cinematic theme, watch them together, then record our feelings, complete with lots of research, casting notes, and fandom apocrypha.

Spooky Thrities

For most of my life, I was afraid of all things that went bump in the night. Despite having black hair, a bad attitude, and a bevy of tattoos, I was everything a horror fan was not. Mainly scared!

Until I turned thirty. Then slowly, things started to change. Books and movies that would give me horrible nightmares in the past no longer seem that scary to me, and *gasp* I actually sort of liked them!? Did that make me a horror fan?

On a quest to investigate this question, I did the only thing I know how to do - I started a podcast.

Now with a newfound, totally unearned confidence, I am making up for lost time through friendship, exposure therapy, and, most spookily of all, academia!

Cageside Seats: The Podcast!

As I am the social media maven for SB Nation's pro-wrestling website, Cageside Seats, I can't exactly escape wrestling. Wrestling, it turns out, pays the bills!

Recently I've teamed up with my fellow cagesider, Marcus Benjamin, to host the official podcast of Cageside. Mostly because I have the editing equipment, and Geno didn't want to.

Each episode, Marcus & I give our listeners the lowdown on who laid the smackdown in the wrestling world that week, complete with the required witty banter, insights, and snark (so much snark) that professional wrestling commentary requires.
